Ok......my landlord knows the local PD in our town and told us this, At an old run down house at the edge of our little town lived an old black man. For Five to Ten days neighbors and passers by saw a" Prop" through the attached garage door (Doors open) of a hanging man swaying back and forth.

About day Ten it was discovered that what everyone THOUGHT was a Halloween prop, was the man who had committed suicide by hanging himself.

He had left a note saying he was tired of being poor and struggling in poverty every day and this is where it ends. They think he left the garage doors open thinking when they found his body, he would get a respectable burial or cremation but all who saw him swinging in the garage thought it was just a good Halloween prop!!!

This IS for real! I'm not making this up. Creepy huh? This happend less than Two miles from my House!!!!!!!.

It is. Odd thing, I was thinking of doing a hanging man prop next year (We have the perfect tree in the front yard for it too)

Now how can I ? It would be looked upon as bad taste. Or I would be the town's biggest heartless S.O.B.

You cannot put up a "hanging" prop anywhere in my state...( I believe) Several people have had hanging witches or a corpse hanging and they are made to take them down....they say it is a racist symbol. Happened just last year in the town next to me.

Yes, a sad end indeed. It left me wondering how many of us have some one living not far from YOUR threshold (even in a "Good neighborhood") that may be in poverty and contemplating that final answer?

Left me with a creepy feeling on two levels of thought

    That's sad, but understandable.

(Note to self: Don't hang yourself in October of any year.)
