Well, it's finally happened to me. Last night, while up in San Bernardino, CA, I got a call from my house in San Diego that we had been robbed of ALL of my halloween decorations in our front yard. They took pumpkins (real and funkins that I had carved), scarecrows I had made, all my lighting that was lighting my house, gravestones, skeletons....everything. I thought I was safe after many years of nothing being touched or bothered. I live in a higher income part of San Diego, and I thought that people respected the haunted house I did every year. Luckily, many of my expensive props and fog machines and lighting stuff was in my garage, but still, they took 100's of dollars worth of decorations. Very disappointed...
How am I supposed to deal with this? Do I go on a witch hunt for my stuff around my neighborhood and take it back? Do i put up a fake security camera to trick everyone in thinking that they are being videotaped?
Boo you thieves...I hope you get whats coming to you...karma is a nasty biznotch.

Terrible terrible thing that someone would do such a thing. Clearly it wasn't just kids messing around and taking one thing. I agree about the karma thing.....they will get theirs someday! So sorry you had to go through this.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before

GRRRRRR that makes me so so mad to hear. Clearly as blackfog said. This is beyond some kids taking a prop or two. I hear stuff like this and I get nervous about my stuff being out. I think next year I'll decorate the day of Halloween.

We feel for you, having lost about half our stuff last year to thieves. But wow, they even stole your lighting?! How could they have done it with no one noticing? (Which is what I wondered last year.) I did the drive around thing, to no avail, looked on ebay and craig's list, passed out flyers... The jerks that robbed you must have had a truck and a crew of helpers. I'm thinking nothing short of electrifying the props will do.

Awww, that's some bad news. Wish we could help track down the thieves and exert some justice.

Sorry to hear that. I had the actual thing happen to me 15 years ago. I was newly married with a new house. I was so excited to haunt in a new neighborhood/town.
They took everything....items I had collected since I was a teenager haunting my parent's front porch. All gone in one night. They even took the spider webbing out of the bushes.
I was devasted. I spent most of October roaming around town looking for my decorations.
It took me years to get back into the spirit. Don't let those Grinches spoil Halloween for you.
