Oh goodness, no. If I carved now, they'd be mounds of furry, orange mush before Halloween even got here! Two or three days before at the most.

I'm itching but I do it about a week before Halloween. I'm in a warm climate and if you carve too early.... they rot out, shrivel and get full of slugs.

I started the first week of Oct! I carve one every week and set it up in my family room for when I watch my weekly Halloween movie.
Besides, it's nice to have a lot pumpkin seeds which allows me to experiment with different recipes when I bake them.

I am completely ready to start but sadly, I'm in Arizona and at best 1 or 2 days before Halloween as well. The family will be in the backyard Sunday the 30th, music on and pumpkin goop everywhere.

I do have a couple of funkins to work on but it's just not the same...

Can't wait, but have to - they'd mold and rot after a day or two here. Temps in the high 80s/low 90s and humid.

I smear a little cinnamon on the lids so the candles end up roasting them and it smells like pumpkin pies baking!
