A couple of years ago I bought 2 costumes from my childhood, one that I loved & one that scared the crap outta me as a kid. One was a Cinderella & the other was a skeleton.
I really wanted to wear Cinderella to school in kindergarten but instead I had to wear what I then thought was a stupid, junky, very un-princess-like homemade costume my great-grandmother made. In my 5 year old mind, THAT wasn't a Cinderella costume, THIS was a Cinderella costume:
This was the skeleton that scared the crap outta me as kid, not so much the costume but the mask
That's Augie up there, he decided he need to "help" with the pics. Since I can only post 10 images at a time I'll finish the rest in a few more posts.

I've decided to have those 2 framed as a whole. I may do the same with this one too. I'm a big Planet of the Apes fan, original series, & just bought this one this year. The costume itself was in great shape, the mask not as good but once again, Augie had to "help" when I unboxed it so he may have cracked it a little more.

These are the masks I've bought in the last month to the last year from Ebay & Goblinhaus. They are surprisingly affordable unless you're into Star Wars/Star Trek & a few others, then you're paying big bucks. I'm more into the colors & the ones I remember as a kid like the Cinderella & skeleton. I won't pay more than $20 for a whole box & costume & a few of the masks I've bought in lots on Ebay. They're not as affordable as they used to be, Bigfoot has a tag on him that says 79 cents, but in today's market, they're not bad.

The green witch is one I've had for ages. I think it was my cousin's costume when she was in kindergarten. When I got it back in the 80s I decided it need some "improving" which wasn't really an improvement at all. There's a couple of them on Ebay now that I may check into.
The shiny white & red skull I already had anyway but for the life of me I can't remember where it originated. I'm guessing some kid in my life that didn't want it so I kept it thinking "one day I may use it for...." like we all do with that sort of stuff.
I'm going to buy a couple of shadow boxes for the masks & put them on the wall somewhere.Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, the best damn little band you should be listening to!

Those are cool! I don't have any Ben Coopers but I remember them well. I do have some of the Imagineering products like Scar Stuf, Vampire Blood, and so on. Those are hard to get nowadays but just looking at them takes me back!
"WHAT'S out there?"
"I don't know.......it was little and brown, and low to the ground!"

I figure if I frame them they won't sit in the closet & deteriorate any further, which is what they'd do otherwise.
