Well I loved the Disney's Halloween Treat when I was a kid. I remember watching it in school. I'm sure most of us remember it being hosted by the Magic Mirror, but turns out that part with the mirror was actually just added on toward the end and was from another special about Disney Villains. So he never actually hosted it, but was a "guest of honor."
Anyway watching it now I realized it doesn't really have much Halloween imagery. Not only that, some of the clips they show aren't even "scary." I mean come on, out of all the witches to choose from, they choose the one from Sword in the Stone?
So I decided to make my own version, which I call version 2.0 Cuz its kind of a sequel, but not really, cuz I also keep some of the original clips.
Among the classic clips are Donald Duck Trick or Treat, Lonesome Ghosts, Bald Mountain, and of course Sleepy HollowBelieve it or not, the first two clips which seem the most Halloweenish of the classic cartoons weren't even shown in the Halloween Treat, just little bits of them during narration were shown.
New clips I added were from Lizzie McGuire, Even Stevens, House of Mouse, and Hocus Pocus.
Well hope u all enjoy my more "Halloweenish" version of the Disney Halloween Treat
You can view it at the link below and there will also be a link to it on my website eventually

I have the original box box Disney VHS Halloween Treat. This was the huge White box before the other versions of Disney big box VHS movies came out. The original Halloween Treat is hosted by a Foam Pumpkin Puppet and the Mirror was later added as the host when they rehashed the original and extended for a TV special. I feel the original was fantastic with its feature shorts and they showcased both Snow Whites witch/Evil Queen as well as Madam Minn. Also if you want the classic spooky Disney shorts seek out Disneys Scary Tales also in original big box and never released on DVD. They are amazing but contain smoking and guns etc etc so Disney has sealed them in vault unless you have the VHS

I will watch your version and check it out it sounds awesome.

I have to say, I'm very partial to the original version, "scary" or not. For me, it's all nostalgia. My kids absolutely loved seeing it on the Disney Channel when they were little, back in the early 90's, and we would rent the video till Blockbuster's copy finally wore out. One of my favorite memories is of my then three year old son singing the theme song and trying to make his teeth chatter like the dancing skeletons. I know it wasn't scary, like John Carpenter scary, but it was just enough for families with little ones to set the Halloween mood.
Scary is all fine and good, but not everything has to be scary to be Halloween.
Thanks for sharing your version, but I think I'll take my Disney Halloween without Lizzie Mcquire!

Oh haha well my version isn't John Carpenter scary. I meant like "PG" scary. I mean it's still all Disney material in it after all, jut stuff that is more set on Halloween. And I do love the original too. I just wanted to put something together that actually focused more on Halloween the holiday.

I use the Foam Pumpkin as the host in my edited version. Although the Magic Mirror is scarier and was more memorable. Not til rewatching it recently did I realize his part was just tacked on at the end, and wasn't actually intended for Halloween, but rather for a special about villains. It would have been great if they had used the same effect and had him host the whole Halloween Treat though.
