So I saw this story today and thought I would share.
    http://world-news.newsvine.com/_news...-help#comments
After all of the stories I have seen about Haunted houses being forced to close down, I had the scary thought that now there will be an assault on corn mazes. I mean, hey, it is costing taxpayer money and who knows what psychological damage the family may have endured. (Sarcasm!) What is this world coming to?
When Hallows Eve draws close once more
    And terror rides the wind
    The Ravenfells shall waken
    And stalk their lands again.

I guess I should have noted that my title was also sarcasm. I know it will survive. I just know I have seen a lot of stories of Halloween stupidity. More than usual in fact.

Stories like these are always worth a good laugh and make for good story retelling.

Hubby and I saw the video footage of this story, on NBC news maybe, while getting ready for work. This was an East coast maze, maybe in Mass. The kids were pretty young both under 5 I think and with it getting dark I can just imagine what the parents were going through if the kids were spooked and mom and dad couldn't find their way out. The maze said they offered them tickets to come back but I'm guessing the parents are re-evaluating the wisdom in taking these kids back any time soon! A corn or any 9-foot maze in the dark has got to be pretty scary at night given the prospect that you could be forgotten and left out in the field all night long. On TV they showed the scope of the field from the air and it was a pretty substantial maze. They didn't mention the parents' name but I'm sure people will find out and they'll get teased about it for quite a while. Not a "911" event and hope the family gets a bill for the fire dept. rescue (911 called the fire dept and I think they and the maze operators had to launch a search party).

Update here's two text links to the story on a Fox affilate station.

Oh my, they'll do anything to try to ruin Halloween for anyone. If the children were young like it says they were, why send them in alone. Not a parent but if I had a child I'd go in there with them. Swear this is so ridicolous it makes me cackle.

They had a 3 week old baby with them. Who takes a 3 year old baby into a corn maze, let alone outta the house to anywhere but to the doctor?!?

The children were with their parents.

Just saw the promo segment for this story on my local CBS station. This story is going viral! Bet every station around the country will be doing a story on it.
