I own a few Gemmy products but they rarely go off when people walk by my lawn. Does anybody have any ideas on how to set them off for people without having to constantly clap or be near them?

I've been using the Spirit Halloween Try Me Buttons to set them off which is a lot more reliable, but someone has to press the button to set them off.

Thunder cd sound tracks with the speakers placed near the props can do the trick. Even screaming tracks. The trick is to space the sounds out to about two minutes apart or so- give or take, for repeated prop triggering throughout the night. If your haunt is always crowed, space the sounds out shorter. You can even try a commercial haunt sounds cd and have it play continously at max volume. Just make sure the speakers are near props. That will usually be enough to keep the props triggering.

I use strobe lights most have light speed controls. They tend to work very well and the light gives off a good affect especially if you use colored lenses.

I have a few that are motion activated....I point some sort of light at them..usually a floodlight...not necessarily directly at them, but so that the beam of light hits the sensor. Then as the ToTs walk by, they trip the prop.

Another trick is to point a flashlight at the prop and move it away.
