It wouldn't be me if I didn't ask for help just before Hallowe'en... but I seem to have a bad luck vibe the last two years.
My bar is gone, my pride and joy. Turning in the keys next week. Next bar: after Hallowe'en. If you want to read what happened, see my latest two blogs.
I was going to cancel the party, but none of the customers of my late bar seem to agree. Then I thought I'd just cry in my blog here, but couldn't help to check out what all of you were doing. And this made me realize: I just have to do it! I cannot survive not having a Hallowe'en party! And it's my anniversary too: Hallowe'en XIII!!
So I need to relocate.
I'm broke, even in debts. Half my props are dead because of a huge-Dutch-rain-incident and I have no building.
On the other hand, I've got a 4 people strong loyal crew, that will work around the clock without being paid, if we can only set the party up. About 5 more regular customers that already have trained acting parts and really want to help out. Also, having a good party will keep the memory of the old bar alive, and perhaps, if given in the official name of the company, make it less a liability, which is good for investors. Especially since I'm always bragging about the two things I'm good at: boooking bands and Hallowe'en. Neighter have been possible in the last year. In my four-story-monument with millions of dark rooms and scary stairs and basement with tunnels that used to lead to the royal palace on the other side of the street...I'm drifting again, sorry.
So..I thought perhaps a guerrilla Hallowe'en in the woods. That means transportation. And not to mention a thousand permits I will not get. I thought it's be fun though, make a huge spider web (Black Widow-theme) with a cobwebgun, in a circle in the trees around an open place in the woods, maybe have the Hallowe'en movies beamed on the trees for the effect (and it was programmed the 28th in the cinema-section of the upper bar)...
I've got my loyal (low laying) fogger, that would work anywhere if only I had a generator.. Thank heavens that machine was lent by my best friend for scouting, whild the rain turned my basement into a swamp!
I don't have a cobwebgun yet though, and don't know if it would arrive on time in Holland. Though I thought for a Black Widow theme it would be perfect to change any location into 'instant decorated'.
And I have a million costumes and people that can do weird acting (we've started shooting my second film, so actors are around).
But then comes: where?! I know a lot of people in the music business here, but they're more busy with laughing at me than making music. Though I think I could ask some of them for help...If I knew what I exactly wanted to ask them.
And the customers/party people are mainly hardrockers and gothics between 16 and 55, not easily scared and always in need of huge quantities of beer. Maybe my old supplier can help me out with a mobile bar?
So..I kinda need your ideas on this...is it an impossible mission? Should I leave it to my concurrence who seem to be way more professional and way less inspired?
What do you think? What would you do? What location would you look for?
And I'm sorry to barge in with a thread like this, but I really don't know who else to ask. You guys seem to be prepared for any circumstance. And I'm diffenately not trying to sell you my business or anything... None of you live nearby anyway XD.

I just remembered I once relocated a Hallowe'en party, the first assignment I ever had for a H'ween party. In the middle of the evening the bar owner started to be really unfriendly and we just packed up the whole party in 15 min, shoved all the guests into cabs and before the had their coats off, managed to redecorate in her house. Worked well. But this is slightly bigger though..

I know you said your finances are not great right now. But is it posible to have some people chip in and rent a banquet hall or something. I know here in the States the VFW will rent out thier halls for special occasions. or you could try a local hotel and see if the banquet room is availible. Hope everything works out for you. Good Luck
