Went to Sam's club today and spent $172.20 on candy. The weather better be good or I'm going to need a dentist!

That's a lot of candy! How many TOT's do you expect? I'll make my run to BJ's pretty soon for full size bars but there's no way I'll need that much. I'm jealous!

Last year it was a whopping 34 degrees out and we had 400 +. If it was nice who knows, so I plan for the worse!

We usually spend about $120 each year... $80 on the candy that goes to the TOTs and $40 replacing about half the $80 bought that somehow mysteriously disappears before Halloween. I keep asking my wife and kids and their friends where it all goes, but they swear they each only ate maybe one or two pieces, and have no idea where several whole bags of candy could have gotten to.

    ^LOL. Love it!

To me, over $100 is a lot of money for ToT candy... but when you have over 300 or 400 ToTers.

$172 is a lot! We have around 300 ToTs and that equates to something like 15 pounds of candy which seems to be around $40. I usually hand out the candy instead of let them grab it (unless they're little and scared) to make it stretch further. We give out basic stuff like tootsie rolls and the like, rationale being that we're more the 'trick' house that has the display.

We won't get candy until a few days before. We always buy too much....but don't spend more then $25/$35. We don't get a whole of TOT's and by the end of the night I'm telling anyone that does come to take a handful. I can't buy too far in advance...because I eat a lot of it too.

I know exactly how that is! This last month every time I go to the store I have to buy a couple of the large bags of candy so we can stock up for the big day. We get about a 1000 ToTs, so I don't even want to think about the cost if I bought it all together. Luckily I can stay away from the stuff pretty good since it goes right into the large storage container specifically for ToT candy.
