Just like everyone else here on the forum I've been working on my props and as great as I think they look they look even better once you start putting them out and setting up the lights. Dont ask me for pics I dont have any yet with lights just testing things it looks way better than I imagined. All hail the LEDs. Who else believes lights make the show?

I'll never forget the year that I lit up my house with a couple of cheap blue floodlights, and the ToTs flocked to my house like never before. It convinced me about the importance of of lighting.

I agree! I strategically place different coloured spot lights to highlight certain things. The freshly dug grave with a full sized coffin and an emerging bucky gets it's own red light. Some of the funny gravestones get yellow lights so folks can read them. The executioner and the guillotine (complete with a kicking leg victim!) gets a blue light to make it creepier. I usually have about 7 or 8 areas that I highlight.
I do a bit of a lighting plan, and make my hubby do all the labour

I so agree that lighting adds to the creep factor and takes everything up a notch along with a fog machine! Always said I would replace my spots one at a time throughout the year for costs sake but never do. A while back I rememberd talking to a forum member about the CFL bulbs and have to test try them.
Wow scatters while I was typing my post you posted your pic! What is it and how did you do it?

They're white 55 gallon plastic barrels with miniature lights in them...I'm going to use them with a lightorama if I ever get done sequencing the music. All the barrels have red, blue, green and orange lights in them. I cut two of the barrels down, so I have three sizes of barrels.
