How late will you keep your Halloween stuff up? I know many will bring in the outdoor haunts the following day, which is completely understandable. We usually keep our stuff up until Thanksgiving, but the vast majority is indoors. Like many others though, I consider Halloween a year round state of mind. I write supernatural and horror fiction, and pretty much watch the same on TV or DVD, along with reading such. As mentioned in my other thread "Halloween Room," there will be Halloween decor up in the den year round. Don't make me post pictures, take my word!![]()

Since we're hosting a non-Halloween event the following weekend, outside will come down slowly over the evenings beginning Nov.1 Inside...a lot of that will come down then, too, with most put away before Thanksgiving (which is when we decorate for that...winter event :shudder
. Some of it will never be put away - some props, the Deduction plays with all year long.

Yeah, I heard there's another holiday come December.
I love that one too, but they both are very special and I can't imagine doing without them. I'm known to make a Christmas village display on the dining room table.

We usually take our decorations down the week or so after Halloween, but the majority of indoor decorations - especially in my room, which is decorated year-round - are
always up.

Everything except tombstones and extension cords in on Halloween night. Pulled into the garage...then we spend 2 or 3 days packing and putting back in storage.

Everything disappears Halloween night.

I'll bring in fog machines and a few important props Halloween night. Then I slowly break down the outdoor display over the next week (helps ease the pain a little). The indoor decorations usually come down after my birthday November 4th, with plenty of harvest/Thanksgiving decorations to replace them.

Same here...fog machines and other "important" stuff comes in Halloween night. If my helpers stick around and want to pitch in, then I take down as much as I can before they give me the "it's getting late we gotta go" look.
Then the weather dictates when the rest comes down. With any luck, the 1st will be a nice day and I'll get most of it stored. The only thing that slows me down is getting help to get the funeral carriage back in the garage...the driveway is slanted and the carriage is kinda heavy.

It takes me about a week to get it all down and packed away. The graveyard and all electric/animatronic stuff comes in Halloween night. On November 1, the castle facade across our driveway, cemetery fence and columns, and wall panels on the back patio come down. These and all the tombstones are put away. The next 2-3 days are spent packing any small props, rolls of jute netting, indoor decor, etc..into totes, and storing them. I store a few large things off site so these wait until last. When all is said and done, I'll run the lawn mower one more time to pick up leaves and neaten the grass, which will have been neglected for a month. I remember being able to put it all away in a day but those days are long gone!
