I met this six-year-old child, with this blank, pale, emotionless face and, the blackest eyes... the devil's eyes. I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up because I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply... evil

I'm stretching my holiday out. A friend is having a party on the 22nd which I think is brilliant! Then I am off to the east coast to visit my sister who has her big bash on the 29th. Like most, I assume. Of course I will make time to visit Salem and give my sis a crash course in prop making . It's fun just thinking about it.

We're having our first ever party on the 29th. We'll be spending the entire day preparing, as we don't feel comfortable putting much of anything beyond foam tombstones out ahead of time. Sunday is cleanup and recovery. Monday we'll redecorate outside (after having brought nearly everything back in Saturday night) and wait for the kids to arrive. We've both taken the day and day after off from work, so then we can hit the clearance sales on the first!

The first pot of chili for the season gets cooked on Halloween night every year. I love chili.

I'm going to start annoying the wife about making some chili on Thursday.

On Friday, I'm going to kick that annoyance into overdrive and turn it into full scale whining, about the chili that is coming due.

Saturday afternoon I'll likely stack the cans of beans and other chili ingredients on the counter just to make sure she doesn't forget about the chili.

By the time Sunday evening rolls around I'll no doubt be laying in the fetal position on the living room floor sobbing to myself about chili.

The next day, all day, I'm going to be discussing chili recipes with my boss. He'll likely try and convince me (once again, like every year) that he's the best damned chili maker in the Western United States. As usual I'll float his ego and agree. The next day is payday after all. Later that evening I'll go home, drink the most wonderful booze, and eat chili until I almost pop. I'll also probably hand out candy to my regular 3 Trick-or-Treaters that I get every year.

All day Tuesday I'll probably return to the living room floor in the fetal position, whimpering from eating too much damned chili.

Me and my boyfriend are having an autumn/Halloween extravaganza on Saturday! In the morning we're going to a pumpkin patch, in the afternoon we're visiting a corn maze, and then that night we're visiting three haunted attractions that I won a pair of free tickets to I CAN'T WAIT!

    GhostTown, hysterical.

Friday: Finish cleaning the house and getting things ready for our party. One of our neighbors hosts a pumpkin carving night for the kids, so my husband and I will go over and visit for a while and drink pumpkin beer.

Saturday: 3rd Annual Halloween Scream (party at our house!)

Sunday: Cleanup and regroup from Saturday night, sit around and watch football (and probably eat chili).

Monday: Get into scary witch character for handing out candy, pass candy to over 200 trick-or-treaters. Watch Nightmare Before Christmas with my husband afterwards, as is our yearly tradition.

This is perhaps the most perfect Halloween lineup. I love when it's on a Monday!

We're planning on having our party on the 15th.....the 22nd if we can't swing it that early.....

Since we'll be all set up for the Halloween party already, Halloween weekend will just be spent hanging out & I took off that Monday & Tuesday - I want to hit the day after sales....

Chili sounds like a good idea that weekend......wonder how I thought of it?
I didn't make him for you!... He carries the Charles Atlas seal of approval.

It's not easy having a good time! Even smiling makes my face ache!
