As much as I love Halloween, if I looked out my window and saw that, I'd call the poleece!

Yeah, I have a feeling that some curmudgeons would call the police or threaten to.

But I love the idea. Maybe use a fake flicker candle to light it instead of a real candle so there's no fire risk (and you're not liable if something happens, alas).

Find a darkened porch(es) on Halloween night...you know the ones...people refusing to participate. Put a jack-o-lantern on the steps and leave. Maybe unlit so they get their wish to not be disturbed by TOTs. When they come out in the morning, lo and behold...

No destruction of property, nothing that could be presumed threatening. Just a cool Trick-'r-Treat Sam-esque prank.
