I'm a little concerned with the way the Secret Reaper has gone down this year. The secretness seems to have died. I quit reading the thread after I saw pictures of outgoing boxes, because I don't want to know who my Secret Reaper is, at least not right away. But then, I was wondering how everybody else feels about it. So I decided to do a poll.

I've never done any kind of swap or secret exchange where you -never- knew who your gift was from. My understanding is that it a secret until you get your gifties.
But I agree that some of the posted pictures, especially the notes/letters before you get your gift, kinda blows the secret.

But knowing who it's from eventually is vital for a proper thank you.

I'm with you. Secret until the end then you find out. I also think the box teaser pics are harmless. It's a tease! This is all done in fun. Lighten up and enjoy!

well, I saw the pictures of boxes being sent out, but to me it was just people so excited that their gift was ready, I put my name in the box, of course it isn't known til it gets to the victim, but with things being post marked , it would be silly for me not to put my name in, I don't know, I am just glad that every one is having so much fun with it, the main purpose of why I do it . I am not voting, just waiting to see how it falls into place, but personally, I don't have a issue with it, I didn't post the pic of my box before shipping, but heck, like I said, just look at the post mark, well, the next town over, but close~
It just mad me smile to see every one having fun.

Bahhhhh!!! Quit complaining people! Lol, lets just be happy you were part of something great here! Secret or not, I think it is an amazing process we have going! Big thumbs up for our SR 2011! Its all about giving though in my opinion! I do however think that not knowing SuCKS! My personal preference is to send a big thanks for anything I receive. I'm a very appreciative person and wouldn't feel right not being able to thank my Reaper. You actually do not however know who you actually have sending you a gift, then once it arrives you find out it was somebody you never expected or thought possible. Its short but sweet! Kudos to Bethene for organizing another great Secret Reaper gift exchange!

One size does not fit all. This is an impossible task to organize for this many people with logistics and to make everybody happy, but Bethene pulled it off. I love secrecy but by no means was my gift the least bit different because my reaper revealed themselves. . I absolutely loved it.

I posted a pic of 2 sides of my box decorations, (and all 4 sides are decorated differently) but there are quite a few black painted SR packages flying around out there...

I also didn't put any where on there or in my reaper note who exactly I was... there are clues, and if they check the discussion thread, they'll be able to see if the box matches, but they have to have been reading and remember that particular box, and the projects I put in there to know it was me.

I figure if they can't figure it out, I'll tell them after a short while, because I do think they should find out at some point.

If you want the SR to be a complete surprise, then don't read the official discussion, or look at the official pictures to see who has and has not received their packages and revealed their SRs. If you want some clues, then read the threads and hunt around to see who is stalking you. Shouldn't be a problem either way. Everybody wins - we get GIFTS!

Oh - and a big THANK YOU to Bethene - you are the best!!
