Thread: Looking for ideas...

My daughters high school drama/theater group is hosting a fundraising haunted house. The theme is "Fractured Fairy Tales". I have a few ideas, but would like some input from the professionals!

My ideas are:

-There was an old woman who lived in a morgue
-Alice in Zombieland
-Little Dead Riding Hood
-The Ugly Duckling Who was REALLY angry about being ugly
-The Boy Who Cried Wolfman
-The Three Little Pigs who are just a little too excited about what they just did to the Big Bad Wolf
-The Wizard of Odd

Granted, this is a high school production (strictly volunteer, no budget to speak of), I was wondering if anyone else had done something like this.

Haha, I like your list of ideas. I would be on a similar track as you.

A couple more:
-Snow White breaking into the Dwarfs' Cottage and terrorizing the place.
-Rapunzel locked in her tower for the good of the people.
-A dead Sleeping Beauty who wakes up and startles people as they walk by.

So, I'm assuming all part will be played by the students? What's the setup like? How much room do you guys have, and will you be able to paint any sets?

There will be sets painted. I'm not sure how much room there is though. I like the Sleeping Beauty idea. She could be all nice and pretty on one side while she's lying down and then be nasty and gross on the other side
when she sits up and bites the prince when he's about to kiss her!

Rapunzel could be wrapped up like a mummy in her hair. ... Goldilocks and the three ghouls or Goldilocks picked the wrong bear house to fall asleep in. Beauty and the Beast, horror style. Snow White in her glass coffin has always given me a bit of the wiggins all by herself actually. lol

Maybe not a fairy tale, but I like the idea of a tooth fairy taking the teeth forcefully from sleeping kids with pliers.
