So, I work for the City of Cape Coral and my bosses and I have been putting on a big haunted hike for the past two years. This is our third year and I want to really blow the last two years out of the water. We've got a few ideas so far.
The hike itself is a about a 1/4 of a mile long in the woods on an ecological preserve. We have a really great grave yard scene with zombies coming up from the ground, a scare crow field, werewolves, cannibals, classic slashers with chainsaws and a creepy doll section. We are looking to expand though. We are thinking about having a haunted or rundown carnival section with creepy clowns and what not. But finding the ideas beyond that has been difficult. We don't have a very large budget and all of our scareactors are volunteers, which isn't always reliable (darn kids and their cell phones lol).
So, I figured I'd ask the members of this site for some advice and ideas. I really want to make this year amazing and blow our competition out of the water. Any ideas would be wonderful, i.e. new section ideas, props, costumes, etc.
Thanks so much!![]()

I really like the carnival idea. It doesn't have to b expensive to build. You can find shipping pallets on the web for free. These are great to build things like maybe ticket booths and consession stands. Even tunnels! Another thing these would b great for is building haunted mine shafts. Just screw together pallets two high maybe some for a roof and cover the outsides with black plastic. Put some creepy looking lanterns with tea lights in them and you've got a super scary and cool mine shaft!! Good luck and happy haunting
