For quite a while I've been narrowing down what I'm gonna buy decoration and prop-wise. The couple of props I have left to buy for this year will put me up at 200 bucks or so- if I can control myself. And that's not counting what I got last year just after halloween- totalling around 200 bucks.
Of course today I find myself in home depot.
With an eleborate display comes a good deal of supplies to make it all happen and every year you need more. Supplies don't end if your haunt grows.
Just over 100 bucks later, I remembered that halloween items isn't nearly the ONLY thing that costs a bunch of money. I go back and forth being as picky and frugal as I can for the halloween stuff, sometimes not getting something because of cost. But I drop a C-note in the depot without so much as blinking an eye.
Good grief, this is an expensive passion.

At least any tools you buy will be useful in other important around-the-house endeavors such as building a better reindeer for Christmas, a giant egg for Easter, and that minibar you always wanted to build...

Your telling me, Shockwave. I can't scrub up $20-$30 to get myself a blucky this year. Its hugely annoying to me because all the things I wanted to do this year were easily do able. All my supplies seem to be readily available... just no cash flow

Yea this year we are kinda holding back, we have already spent about 350 bucks on figures props etc. but hey you only live once why not spend your money on things you love.. other then your wife ;]
I met this six-year-old child, with this blank, pale, emotionless face and, the blackest eyes... the devil's eyes. I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up because I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply... evil

oooh, nice save kingcoop80-cuz you know if the wife ain't happy, ain't no one happy! LOL! (I know this cuz I'm a wife).

Anyways, I know what you mean, Shockwave199. At home depot/lowes I will spend money like crazy, but deny myself something at the Halloween store....and then there's this: I have been stalking a can of drylock at home depot for the last 2 months. I keep thinking that its for Halloween, maybe I shouldn't spend the money. But if it was for my newly remodeled kitchen I would already have it in my shed. It's not even THAT much! Go figure.
Oooh eee oooh ah ah ting tang walla walla bing bang...
