Hey guys I live in Ny state and I can't believe that not 1 Spirit store is even OPEN where I live. When I spoke to a guy on the phone from Spirit he said they got a late start this year. Also went to my local Walmart over the weekend and all they had out was shirts and pumpkin carving supplies! Target yesterday was also a bomb! All they had were the blowmold pumpkins! I picked up a 18inch scary one. Party City is another joke too! Not even set up yet! What the hell is going on in Ny state?????????![]()

I don't have a clue what is going on in NY but here in AZ we have some Halloween Spirit stores open and others are still in the setting up advertizing for help stage.

Our local Spirit just opened yesterday. What a joke it ended up being. The 3 people they had working there were very rude. Didnt want to help you with anything. The store was only half full. I mean, it looked like the end of the season. I asked if they were still stocking and I was told no, that this was a high crime area and they arent setting up like the other Spirits. WHAT?? The store is open in the main shopping center for our city/town. The local mall and all hotels/restaurants/shopping centers/ and stores are all there. Not to mention that only 3 miles down the road is one of the more higher end areas.
There were no animatronics set up for display. They only had about a dozen anyway. No Zombiewasteland display at all!!! No Halloween music playing. It was a joke.“Do you know the terror of he who falls asleep? To the very toes he is terrified, because the ground gives way under him, and the dream begins.”

Ours opened Saturday and I'm headed there shortly. Hoping it is a good experience. Party City has been putting out Halloween for over a week now and should be in full swing soon. We also have a Halloween Express that is still getting stock in. I guess you just need towait it out. It is frustrating reading the threads here on how many members went and bought something at Spirit and your own store isn''t even open yet. Hang in there!

Same thing here where I live. Last year we didn't have any Spirit stores and I was so disappointed, first time I could remember not having one. So I was excited this year when we had a single store listed here. It's not close, about a 40 minute drive, but that's close enough. No phone number was listed, but as most stores were opening Labor Day weekend, I headed out there. It was closed, nothing was set up but they had boxes stacked everywhere. I figured okay, they're still setting up, no big deal. I drove back out there this past weekend, no progress at all. The same boxes still stacked up, no racks setup, nothing. They have a sign up stating they'll be open in September, just not sure when in September. It's halfway over now, better hurry up. I'm planning on buying the tall candelabra and the jumping spider and am considering the lifesize Frankenstein depending on how he looks in person. I doubt I'll make the drive again for nothing and knowing my luck, when I do go back they'll be sold out of the items I want the most. Would be nice if I knew the exact date they're going to be open. I don't want to order them online as shipping costs are too high for large items.
The Halloween City and Halloween Express stores here have been open for a couple of weeks and they're nice and all, but the items I want the most are Spirit exclusives.

I didn't make him for you!... He carries the Charles Atlas seal of approval.
It's not easy having a good time! Even smiling makes my face ache!

For the past 3 years we had a spirit. Nothing so far this year. Up in Poughkeepsie there is the signs up for a halloween store, but nothing inside yet. Most stores have just simple halloween decorations out. But this is to be expected from "box stores", they go for numbers.

My Spirit is in Manville NJ which got hit hard by Hurricane Irene (and the flood that came with it). I went past the location a few days ago and all the other businesses were open in the strip but the Spirit still only had a sign up (opening in Sept). There was nothing when I looked in the store window. I'm wondering if they are going to open at all now. One of my co-workers said there was a Spirit Halloween by him, but he doesn't know if its open yet.

Our Spirit had a sign on the door, "Open Sept. 9." Now they have a sign that says, "Delayed." There is merchandise in the store, but no one working to set up. Especially in this time of economic instability, I would think they would be really hustling to get open and start making money.
