I don't know if there's an accepted term for it, but as you can probably guess, it's when you go back to a house for seconds, either hiding inside a different costume, or not even taking the time to switch up and just hope the person at the house forgot you.
Have you ever tried it, or for those who give out candy, has this ever happened to you, to your knowledge?
I've never done it, myself, though last year I did think about it one time, because I found a well-decorated house that gave out dark chocolate Reese's, which I've never gotten on Halloween before. I chose not to.
But, what are your thoughts on it?
Sorry if there's already a thread for this, I skimmed through the recent ones and don't remember finding any. But I probably missed it~

I wouldn't mind if a kid or a group of kids did it, since we barely get any TOTs as it is. Especially if they actually change costumes

I've never done it myself, but if you live in an area with only a small amount of houses that hand out candy, maybe it would be necessary?Anything can happen on Halloween...

It never occurred to me when I was TOT myself, but I don't have a problem with it. The Halloween catchphrase is TRICK or Treat. If they came back through in a different costume, that would be a bit of effort and deserves another treat.

I could see getting upset if you were giving out full sized candy bars or special prizes, but if you do the typical couple of pieces of candy, I would hope you'd take it in the spirit of Halloween - that you were "tricked" out of more.

We get 600 tots so I would never notice if someone came back, or even came a couple of times. And I wouldn't care if they did. The night is about the kids. Come to think of it maybe I only get 300 tots, they are just double dipping. I'll have to pay more attention this year . lol

I noticed a few repeat TOTs last year (maybe 2 or 3 small groups). I don't think it was so much about the candy as it was coming back to look at the decorations - we were really the only decorated house on the street aside from some pumpkins, strings of lights and a few inflatables. No big deal, I gave them more candy, enjoyed their reactions again (which is the whole point of the elaborate haunt), and mentally deducted the repeats from the "total" (we count the Halloween candy beforehand so we know how many trick-or-treaters come through - last year was 196!).

I did it once when I was young...about 10,000 years ago. The house was the only one giving out full-sized bars - because the owner worked for a candy company. He ID'd me, asked if I hadn't already been there (never have been able to blend into the crowd, darn it). I 'fessed up - his response "Since you're honest about it, help yourself"

We only have about 20 ToTs in the neighborhood, and a few of the kids do come back for seconds and even thirds. lol I don't mind, because there are so few of them.
If there were more, I might be a bit irritated by it, unless they were changing costumes, cuz that would definitely deserve another treat.

I give out goody bags, nice goody bags and we get about 100 TOTs. I don't notice to many "repeat offenders", but when I do, on their second round through, they get an individual piece of candy and not another goodie bag. If they have changed costume, I wouldn't realize they were "back" and they would get another goody bag for their trouble.
We do get several that come back through for the thrill but don't ask for more candy.
Shhhh! Wait. What was that?
