I had to go get some enamel paint and Hobby Lobby is closer than Michaels... and while entering, and the hubby noticed across the store - Jack o' lantern like displays. Got closer and they are actually carrying HALLOWEEN stuff - not just cutesy, but cool things!!
Picked up a really pretty statue of a black cat on a black pumpkin with the words "Boo!" on the pumpkin...
They have lots of decor like owls, ravens (I saw two different ones that I may have to go buy - they were wood cut effect on finials and the others were metal with nice details), black cats, platters with skeletons, ceramic/glass pumpkins (some with scroll designs and initial letters), spiders, etc... a tiny bit of glittery stuff, but it's not all over (but enough to make the ones that like glitter happy)
Lots of retro/vintage type stuff (platters/plates with great graphics, statues and interesting stuff), elegant look decor, and some cutesy, but it is NOT the main type of decor.
So if you're looking for stuff for decorating inside, might be worth a look!
(guess the economy and missing out on a growing market finally got to the corporate office... can't believe they have Halloween now!)

Yeah, they started (at least around here) carrying actual Halloween items last year. I doubt we'll ever see props there but I like a lot of the decor they carry. I got one of the ravens you mentioned last year - just had to have him!

Our nearest HL has always carried Halloween. Maybe not reapers and zombies, but things like you mentioned - pumpkins, cats, bats, happy ghosts and witches, etc. I don't think they're anti Halloween, just anti shock and horror.

I've never seen anything but scarecrows (happy cute ones) pumpkins, and fall themed foliage at HL before, (absolutely nothing that could be considered straight-up "Halloween" ). So I stopped checking them out over the years. I haven't been in during the season for about 2 years, so this was a nice surprise...

We just had a new HL open in our area. I was there for the 'grand opening' last month and they had 2 isles of harvest decor and 11 aisles (yes, I counted, I'm anal that way) of Christmas decor. I saw a lot of their regular merchandise that could be used for Halloween including a really sharp looking black cake stand. Will have to stop back and check on the Halloween decor. Thanks for the heads up Frankie.

Our HL around here as always carried some Halloween. Mostly inside decor stuff. They don't carry anything spooky. But they do carry the stryrofoam wig heads!! A tad bit pricier than Sally's Beauty Supply. But if you only need one....

There are other holidays besides Halloween? When did they start that?
