Just hoping for an general concensus and a little feedback here..
I was just curious to see if any of my fellow Halloween afficianados have ever contemplated a public marriage proposal during their Halloween festivities (or had actually gone and done it). For me, it's a natural choice as the time to ask since A) We both really love Halloween.. B) She would never see it coming and C) it would make for a very memorable proposal (as all proposals should be now that I think of it)
Since I'm working on a modified stalkabout I'll have plenty of space to hide the giant prop ring I'll be making (of course I'll have the actual ring as well but we do have to think of stage presence) Most years my costumes get picked to enter the contests and I was hoping to get picked again this year so I could do it on stage in front of the crowd. I'm not usually up for public things like this but Halloween tends to open up that door for me and lets the vocal and outgoing extrovert out. I'm at least assured of a yes since we've been discussing marriage quite a bit these past few months but that doesn't help calm the nerves much.
Friends have told me it's creative. Parents the same. However, there's a little part of me that wonders if it'll live up to the proposal she's been hoping for.
So, I guess my question is this.. If you were approached by a horrible monster (in a costume no less) and he asked you to marry him, would you?

I would have LOVED a Halloween proposal! So memorable and creative! The public stage could be super overwhelming for some, so as long as your fiance isn't the type that would rather die than be in front of a giant audience, I'd say go for it. You'll have to let all of us know how it goes!

Are you 100% sure she'll say "yes?" If so, then go for it. (if there is even a small doubt that she'll freak out, then don't... I've seen so many of those sad public proposals gone wrong and it's not pretty.
)
Depending on your music tastes, "Spooky" by Atlantic Rhythm Section would be a fun song to get them to play... since it's all about a guy proposing to his "spooky little girl" on Halloween. It would be so cool to get her up there and then actually drop to a knee and hold out the ring at that line...

Yes, yes, yes!!! I dont know about it being in front of everybody, unless she likes the attention, but if you both love Halloween like the rest of us then YES!!! I think its so sweet. The whole idea of having a prop ring, and being on your favorite holiday, and just the whole wow factor and thought. So special, almost like the movies. You will have to keep us all updated.

What a wonderful idea!! I am not usually a fan of combining proposals with holidays...Christmas, Valentines Day etc. (this is only my opinion - I know it makes some people happy!!) because it should be its own special day but I had never considered a Halloween proposal before and I LOVE the idea and am jealous!!
Most especially because you both love the holiday!! Its not a holiday normally associated with gift giving so it will take her completely by surprise. I think even if you are not up on stage its a great idea!! I can't wait to hear how it goes.
As I was going up the stair, I met a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. I wish, I wish he'd go away.
