Some costume and prop progress:
The rig has been completed for quite some time but I've just recently been able to get back to build. Feels pretty stable, can move around comfortably so far. We'll see how things are once more weight is added with the head, hands, etc.. More support straps may be necessary.
A few pics of the head design and current status. Still needing some eyes and some more detail work before giving it a coat of mache. The last pic shows it on the rig for general orientation. Head moves pretty smoothly but had to settle for just left and right movement. Overall I'm pretty happy with it.
Started work on the hands as well. So far still pretty rough and need to work on the detail a bit before I position, tape up, and mache. Katie says the fingers look like marshmallows. At this point I tend to agree. Second pic shows a bit of the carving done on the finger bones. I'm debating on fingernails or not. Jury is still out I think until I see the mache'd hand.
Last but not least, got started on the ring last night but she got off work early and I have to pick up again when she's out tomorrow. Right now it looks more like a doughnut than a giant engagement ring but some rasp work will slim it up a bit. I have yet to carve a stone but that should be easy enough. Still awaiting the real ring from the jewelers so I can make it look similar.
Well, that's all for now. Will post more progress as it becomes available!

Funny thing is, I just found out the other day from my Grandmother that my Grandfather had proposed to her on Halloween night. I had never known that until she told me. That was 60+ years ago. Sadly, he passed away back in June but maybe by doing this I'm honoring his memory a bit as well.

I just remembered this post out of the blue today. Can you please give us an update (not to mention a finished picture of this amazing build)?

"Where are the pics?!" appears to be the consensus
Whether she said yes or not doesn't seem to matter much...
