Being a bagger, or courtesy clerk for the technical term, it would be appropriate for me to say tharmt the Kroger store that I work at is gradually getting Halloween stuff put out. Right now, we have candy, and usually, it's already out, but costumes and decor and the like will soon follow.

Kroger actually carries pretty good merchandise some years. I bought a wicked cemetery entrance quite awhile ago for $40, I think it was; anyway, it was cheap compared to others Candy is always first, since they attempt to drag things out as long as they can to tease us...

They fooled me today... went in and caught sight of an inflatable pumpkin with a ghost popping out and then got over to the aisle and saw nothing but candy.

I have seen some nice stuff in past years, tho.

No pun intended, but I do have to give them props. I found a flying ghost last year. I couldn't afford it til it was on sale for 7 dollars. They sold out before I could get one . They usually get stuff again that sells well. I know that because we had mini strobes for 2 years running. If they have it, I'll be the first to get one! They always have a good candy variety, too.

Sadly, our nearest Kroger closed a couple of years ago. I really miss it. Now I'd have to drive an hour to find one.

Have had good luck getting things on clearance there before - not too many people think of it for Halloween supplies, so they always have good stuff left over.

What have you found at Kroger? Ours has tombstones, mini strobes, screw in blacklights and strobes. Glow sticks, houseware, bones,a lifesize Pinhead statue, (I don't know if it talks, or anything,) fencing, a lifesize headless man with his head on a platter, and a hand bowl. The flying ghost looks more realistic this year, instead of a white cloth on a motor, it's got arms. Anyone else seen this there?

I bought two cute tombstones yesterday in my Kroger in Atlanta. They were priced at $4.99 each, but using my Kroger card, they rang up at $3.50 each! Their selection was pretty small, but they did have some costume stuff, some tombstones, and some inflatables I think.
