Went to the foodstore today and they were putting out pumpkins. I thought for a moment that it might be a little early -- for longevity purposes -- but then figured to heck with it. It's a nice little reminded that Halloween is coming.

In the northeast I'd buy my pumpkins a month early and they'd last, but buying now could be tricky (and mushy).
Here in SoCal, if I buy more than a week or two before H'ween they have a good chance of rotting. It still gets into the 80s during the day in October.
