We're not doing much for Halloween this year (no parties) as I'm expecting my first baby around October 18th Although, the first thing my midwife said to me was to expect to go overdue, and that it will probably be a halloween baby - a sentiment which has been repeated by quite a few friends and family member

Baby's due date was completely unplanned, it was quite amusing when we actually worked out when s/he would be due! I predict lots of cute halloween parties for birthdays

Hopefully I'll be around the house while all the kids are out Trick or Treating, I'll be sad if I miss that - it's always a highlight

So, do any of you have a Halloween (or close) birthday? How is it? If your child has a halloween birthday - do they love halloween as much as you and love getting involved in it all, or do we tend to push our love of the holiday on them a bit much? I want it to be an awesome time of year for this baby, I don't want to force him/her into celebrating just because I love it...

My birthday is October 15th My mom always did a Halloween or Autumn themed party (with the exception of that one year I had a New Kids on the Block theme LOL). I loved them! But I do remember as I got a bit older, I grew a little tired of the same theme and wanted something different. But of course mom never listened My advise would be to enjoy the Halloween parties while they're young. If when they get older and want something different, listen to what they have to say.

    Congrats on the bambino!

Congrats on the baby! Assuming the due date is close you should be feeling better by the big day. I'm getting married October 8th. While I'm looking forward to it, it is putting a crimp on my fall/Halloween plans financially and time-wise. So much to do in October!

    Congratulations!!!

My son was born on November 3rd. Almost a Halloween baby and just missed it. I guess if he was born close to the day I would have had a halloween theme to it. My kids are grown and all in there 20's and they all love Halloween and help out with the decorating and during the night on Halloween. I guess my love for Halloween has rubbed off on them cause I have always decorated the house inside and out before they were even born. It has always been in my blood so they have some of it in theirs lol!

Congrats!! How exciting! Is this your fist?

Both of my boys were due late November and were both 5 weeks early. So I've got a 19th and a 24th of October. So far, most of their stuff has been regular kid parties, but my oldest (6) is getting REALLY into the Halloween stuff this year, so who knows? I may have a Halloween addict yet. They're very wishy-washy when it comes to themes, so I currently just pick something for them, but I imagine as they get older they'll have a better defined sense of how awesome Halloween is.

Also, huge props on choosing a midwife
