Christmas has Santa, Easter has the bunny...or JesusThanksgiving has the Turkey T Turkenstein....or just plain ol Turkey haha.
I guess it could be argued that the Jack O Lantern is the mascot of Halloween, but most don't talk. Well unless they are hosting a Disney special
Anyway so here are a few contendors. Notice they all have Jack O lanterns with them
My personal pick would be Sam from "Trick R Treat." Though he's new to the scene I think he fits the job. He looks very Halloweenie plus he goes after people who disrespect the rules of Halloween
Then theres Jack the Pumkin King from "The Nightmare Before Christmas." He's more well known so he might win based on popularity.
The Headless Horseman has also become a very Halloween figure with his flaming jack o lanterns.
And perhaps the Great Pumpkin from "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" (if he really exists haha) could be the mascot. Well who knows what he looks like but there seems to be a consensus he looks similar to the pic below.
So whom do you think should represent Halloween?

Ok, I'm strange - but since I was a kid I've always thought the Green Goblin (yup, the Spider-man super-villain) was a great Halloween mascot. He's gotten disturbingly creepy in recent years though.
I'd definitely vote for the Horseman too.
Regarding the Great Pumpkin - I never understood this...
How is it that Linus can recite the Christmas story verbatim, but is completely off the edge of the map when it comes to Halloween and Easter? I think there must be a teenage Van Pelt we've never met that's been messing with his head.

Tough choice.
I'll take them all.
Including Michael Myers.

The jack-o-lantern is the mascot...always has been..always will be. The other stuff was made up for TV and movies

I thought of adding Michael Myers to the list but though his name is synonymous with Halloween, he doesn't really have the mascot feel to him.

I'm old enough to be going the nostalga route and choose Great Pumpkin. I know the stoy of the headless horseman is much older but its more of a gothic/ghost story/fable that can be enjoyed any time of year where as GP is purley Halloween.
IMHO

People have commented that it seems to be a protest on the commercialism of Christmas, or a satire on how ridiculous the idea of Santa Claus is, or some kind of parable about a child's faith, but Schultz has always said that he simply thought it would be funny if a child confused the two holidays somehow.
To me, this never rang true. Linus has always been the most intellectual of the Peanuts gang so for him to believe in the Great Pumpkin looks to me more like Linus suddenly becomes dumber than a brick around Halloween. So I think his response is just his way of dancing around the issue to avoid controversy. Plus Schultz was never quite clear on how widespread the idea was, in one strip Charlie Brown informs Linus that the Great Pumpkin was reported on the news as being seen in another more "sincere" pumpkin patch.

Of course you've got the good ole jack o lantern, but I go with The Headless Horseman. In Indiana we have a place called Conner Prairie. Every year at Halloween time they have the Headless Horseman. You get on a tractor pulled hayride and ride through the old 1800s town, but be on the lookout for the Headless Horseman! A guy in a Headless Horseman costume, on a horse and with a sword comes up riding alongside you! You see him several times too. We gotta hurry and make it across the covered bridge before someone loses a head. Yes, there really is a covered bridge.

Hmmm. Interesting stuff, Xane. Maybe Linus is just more insightful than the rest of us and the Great Pumpkin and Easter Beagle are both legitimate?
Hearts1003, that sounds amazing. I hear the Headless Horseman at Disneyworld kicks some serious but as well!
