I had a good idea for a website. I was thinking of some haunted attractions that I wanna visit this year, and realised that I can't see 3 in a month. Then I thought that there should be a video site for haunters, like Youtube. If we fad this, haunters could post walkthroufmghs, educational videos, etc. Thereis a site like this for trade shows and conventions, but not for this.

I would love it. I did post last week about if we could have something similar for here, but it got shot down quickly. I love seeing vids on youtubes of haunts and props.

Some good names for it could be HaunTube or BooTube. I got that from a Halloween site called GooGhoul, an obvious take off of Google.

I like it. I spend all year on youtube looking at everyone's haunts for ideas and inspiration. As far as naming goes, my vote goes to BooTube.

Does anyone know how to put together a website? I'm more the idea guy. I was thinking of doing a colaboration with someone on here. I give the ideas. Someone else does the tech work. BooTube, it is!

That is a really good idea! I dabble in web design and have friends who do as well. Would HF support it, as in let it be advertised for free on their site, or a traded advertising spot on each site for each other to drive traffic? HF is a huge community, Halloween is a huge holiday, and having a video website specifically for Halloween projects, props, themes, ect would definitely benefit HF, all of its members and people around the world so they wouldnt have sift through YouTube and a lot of its crap to find an appropriate video for halloween.
I could see how HF wouldn't want to manage a video site, due to high maintenance and the very big possibility of abuse using video and monitoring it so there is no copyright issues, abusive videos from spammers, etc.
So a third party vendor for the video site would be key, but who wants to manage it is the real question. The time and the money to host so many potential videos and time to swift through them to make sure they are of your terms of service.
YouTube goes through a lot of procedures and stress with copyright and everything else to keep their doors open and they are only open because of VEVO who I think owns them or partially owns them and pays for it so it stays free. (The official music videos from signed bands/artists you see on YouTube)
It is still a good idea, its just a lot of time and effort and of course to some it would be worth it, but others who run it maybe not unless your getting paid.

I may have someone to help with the sight! I emailed Jonathan from Rotting Flesh Radio to pitch the idea. He said that if I'm game, he and Rfr, and I would get involved and make it happen.
