Some of you may remember my post this past spring about my new neighbors who told me that celebrating Halloween was against their religion. This was the last straw for us. There were many other reasons why we wanted to move, but we had been procrastinating. You don't mess with my Halloween (and the lack of storage for those Halloween goodies was a little out of control).
Our search for a new apartment was a nightmare. There was nothing in our price range that was even half way decent. After looking at a few places we decided see one that was a little more than we wanted to spend in a condo development. Of course it was perfect inside with all the appliances we were looking for and more storage then we would know what to do with (I know what to fill it with). Outside was another story. There was zero yard out front and less than ToT friendly stairs. There was a small deck off the back with a shared green space that we wouldn't be able to do anything with. I decided it wasn't worth it at first, but after seeing more crappy apartments, this one looked like the only real option. So I went back and when the current tenant asked if I had any questions I asked about Halloween (of course). She told me that she wasn't sure since her family goes to a Halloween party every year, but they only get a handfull of ToTs. However the neighbor is really into Halloween. This is part of what sold me on the place, a fellow Halloween lover next door!
Of course then I started to wondered how into Halloween they were. After all there are some people who put out a Jack-o-Latern, some webbing, and lights and some would say they are really into Halloween. However I got to meet my neighbor (finally) today and it turns out she really is into Halloween. Although it sounds like her decorating style is more Clark Griswold, she does break HOA rules and start decorating on the 1st of October rather than 10 days before. She says they send letters, but she does it anyway. We're both really excited for this Halloween.
My Halloween went from cancelled to totally awesome!

Hey since you don't have a yard you could always do a really cool window display. Like FCG or something, bunch of lights, webs, pumpkins. That would still be fun. Best of luck to ya.

Thanks everyone. I'll take a cool Halloween neighbor and no yard than a yard and no Halloween because of the neighbor any day!
Oh I am. I've got some great windows to work with too. My neighbor says she hasn't done anything on the backside of her condo yet, but I'm hoping to get her to do a little something with me this year!
