So last night as I was enjoying our new layout for the site I noticed the wind beginning to pick up so I double check the windows on my van (of course I had to roll them up), and came in to enjoy the a peaceful night. Within a half hour all hell had broken loose here. Water was pouring down in huge sheets and the wind was going crazy. I frantically rush upstairs to get my oldest son to come sleep in the basement (for me this is not usual behavior as we always have storms here in TN), but I really felt like there could be a tornado. About 10 minutes after having him settled nice and sound on the couch beside my storage closet I hear the sound of water pouring into the house...... The lights go out, and I had to scramble for a flashlight..... I open the closet that has all of my Halloween items stored in it to find there is water running in like crazy.... most of the stuff is in storage tubs, but some of it is in cardboard boxes (the items that won't fit in tubs (of course that's where the water hit the most. The lights have been off all day til a few minutes ago, and I'm about to have to go through all of my stuff to make sure nothing is ruined.......My question is ...... since I have to pull it all out anyway (even the stuff in tubs (just to be safe for moisture)... should I go ahead and just decorate? I hate to put everything up just to pull it out in about 15 days or so.

First box that was cardboard turns out to be almost all outside decorations so woooohooooo at least those are alright. I probably need to empty the box out and make sure they dry to avoid mold though. It's mostly my tombstones etc.
The storm was scary, and very frustrating..... of course all this happens this week after I kicked my husband out so now I have to fix whatever is leaking on my own (fingers crossed I can figure it out).Do zombies eat popcorn with their fingers?
No, they eat the fingers separately...

First off so glad you and your family are safe. Second, I'm in Indiana and had storms here last night too but not bad like you. Third, DECORATE TOOTS! Set them free! Fourth, I do hope all your decor is peachy king.

When life gives you lemons...make lemonade. In your case, when the storm causes you to pull out your decorations....go ahead and decorate.

Hopefully the rest of your decorations are ok! I say go for it. I've started...we had gotten a few new ornaments for our Halloween tree and I couldn't help but pull it out and decorate!
