I really prefer to do all of my own decorating...it just keeps me from going behind anyone and arranging it like I want to anyway. My husband doesn't mind, I'm sure he'd rather not bear the pressure of an awesome display.
But I do let the kids have their own area to decorate, and really TRY to leave them be with it.
Anyway...how are y'all with getting help to meet the deadline? Do you like the extra hands on board, or do ya just stock up on Red Bulls and caffeine pills to get it all done yourself?

I decorate the inside and my husband does the outside. The control freak in me likes to do all my own decorating, but last year when my niece asked if she could help, I came up with the idea of having her and another niece of ours do some voicework for the cemetery, which they were thrilled to do.
Anything worth doing is worth overdoing.

im a control freak and i admit as such.
I dont mind if anyone helps pack/ unpack (who doesnt LOL) but as far as setting it up, unless its something i NEED help with, I'd just as soon do it myself.Never jump into a pile of leaves with a wet sucker. - Linus

I inherited my stubborness from my Dad. My girlfriend and I usually have a few tense moments when she wants to help me decorate but I don't like any of her ideas. I blame it on thinking about how I want to do things for next Halloween everyday starting November 1st.
I'm going to try and be more open this year, since last year she had some good points. For the most part I'm going to let her do the superfluous details like hanging the empty picture frames and cobwebs wherever she wants. It will make her feel included.

Don't really want much help. I get the hubband to help out with things that takes two people and direct him on setups, but mostly he stays out of my way.
I have a neighbor kid that really wants to help, but so far, I haven't taken him up on it since I'm a bit of a control freak and would just have to go reset anything he'd be able to "help" with.

ok, I admit I am the one who thinks Halloween 24/7, and I hear the "what? it is like how many months away, like as if it is a new thing to them. but I try to organize not always it works because they in my family are not as much into as I am. so what I try to do is with my oldest daughter who is in graphics give her a job, hubby is good with building give him a job, my other two daughters I give simple poster jobs and help decorate or the........I need you to hold this for me. This year is the first year for me that someone else wants to get involved outside my family, oh my grasshopper is starting to learn.........as I am not the cutey kind and she is starting to find that out. Hubby well lets just say, he grumbles but when show time comes he is the first one who is putting the makeup on and looking at himself in the mirror and talks to himself.......lol
