My hubby enjoys it but isn't into as much as I am. He doesn't help with the set up or break down. He just stays out of my way. lol He gets more of a kick out of watching me be all giddy over it. My daughter enjoys it too and will help man the fog machine. Hubby will help giving out candy if I can get his help long enough before he goes across the cul-de-sac to drink beer with the neighbors.
No one in my family is really into gore including myself. Don't care for the slash-em up movies. But I do like spooky & freaky type movies. My daughter and I love when ABC family does their Halloween movie countdown.
my gruesome groom is indulgent if not uber-enthusiastic. Before we met 4 years ago, he and his former wife did nothing for Halloween (appparently, it's just not a huge holiday in China...go figger). Now he 'lets' me decorate on Sept 1 and he will help me some. He really gets in to the costuming aspect, tho, and has even agreed to wear a costume to work on Halloween day. (He's one of those guys who was told in medical school 'if you can't ACT like a doctor, you can at least look like one' so he wears the suit and tie daily.) The costume at work is a HUGE step forward for him.
He's amazing and I am very lucky to have him. Even if he HAS forbidden me to wear my "Amy Winehouse" style wig to work. LOL.
My wife isn't into Halloween. She just shakes her head when I finish decorating. Not that she dislikes it, but if it were up to her she would probably just have a jack-o-lantern and call it a day.
My 6 year old is more into the cute type stuff.
Strangely, my wife and I don't share many similar interests at all yet we have been married for 7 years and have a kid and all. The kid is probably the only shared interest lol.
Can be a downer though when I am excited about something and don't have anyone to share it with.
