I saw this in a banner of an online store for Halloween items, probably something they carried in the past. I e-mailed asking for info about it and no reply (tip...not the way to handle future/potential customers even if you don't carry it anymore).
Does anyone know anything about this item? I tried to do a google image search of it, but came up with nothing (not that I expected it to). I REALLY like the looks of this and would love to track one down, depending on the material of which it's made.

If you have an Android phone, you can try Google goggles on it.

I think I'm the last person in the world without a cell phone. Kind of proud of that actually.

That's cute. You might try The Victorian Trading co. It kinda looks like the background in their catalogs.

I have this same cat. Mine is about 8 inches tall and is made out of what seems like resin. The price tag is still on the bottom. I paid $11.50 for it at a local gift store two or three years ago (the gift store has since gone out of business). I remember seeing a much larger version of the same cat at Home Goods in 2009. You can''t really see in the photo you posted, but his green jacket has a nice star pattern and there's a bell attached to his collar.
Other than that, I don't have any information that would be of any help. There is a signature on the bottom of what I'm guessing is the artist's name, but I can't quite make it out. A really bad guess is that is says "Deborah Galam" or something similar but I did a search on the name and nothing turned up.
Wish I could be of more help because it's a really cute piece.

I swear, HomeGoods is becoming the bane of my Halloween. So many neat items but I never see the good ones here. It's like the poor kid locked outside the candy store watching kids picking through his favorite candy eating it.
That's it...I'm Charlie Brown and I keep getting the rock!
I'd LOVE to pick up the larger version. If anyone has ideas / sees one / tired of theirs, let me know. I was hoping it was Resin and not paper mache, so that confirms it. I probably need to shift this to the WTB section.
Thanks for all the info!

I almost bought that cat at HomeGoods too! I like cats and had gone back and forth on that piece at HG but probably found other things I liked that day and decided I liked something better. I thought I had a picture of it in my 2010 or 2009 albums but did a quick look but if it was there I didn't notice. I hope you find one.

That's funny, I just got out of your 2009 album and found two pictures of what must be the 8" one before looking back at this thread!

Probably not long enough for someone to have grown tired of theirs yet. I'm going to obsess over this now.

Hehe, I forgot to look over on the Flickr account. I knew I had seen it at HomeGoods!
Hey, don't give up, you never know, many times you'll see the same item make another round at HomeGoods or TJMaxx. I've been checking Halloween there for a few years now and have seen it many times. Plus some times I see something at one of the TJMaxx related stores and the next year see it at ROSS or vice versa. Same could be said for Dollar Tree and the 99 Cent Stores, as well as Sam's Club and Spirit (I'm thinking the image in the mirror and the interactive busts from Sam's Club that are now in Spirit). I'll keep an eye out for you since I know I won't forget what it looks like.

I took another look at a site that carries a lot of vintage stuff and I was thinking the cat was a Greg Guedel design for Bethany Lowe or a Bethany Lowe design maybe. Take a look at some of the cat designs near the bottom the webpage. we know it's an older design if it was sold in HG back on 2009. Also check out some of the artists links.
