    Hi all,

You guys are such a creative bunch I was hoping to pick your brains for suggestions.

My fellow volunteers and I run a Haunted Hayride, and this year we are including a haunted barn and a short walking trail. We've been doing the hayride for a few years now, we started out pretty small but had a huge turnout. The next year we attracted twice as many people and it has taken off from there. Last year we took almost 1000 people on our hayride and this year hopefully many more than that. We have advertised for volunteers to help us haunt the place and we've had a really good response.

Our hayride route winds around our equestrian center and ends up at the haunted trail/cemetery and barn we are including this year. Since we are a riding stable we have a lot of cool things to incorporate into our event and here is where I was hoping to get suggestions.

We have access to a huge rusty old dumster that has a door that swings open, very loudly and very squeaky. Currently, it is sitting in our cemetery area so we are planning on possbily turning it into a tomb or just paint it and have someone slam the door open.

We also have access to several large watering troughs. We have discussed filling those with "blood" and possibly having a prop sitting in them, or just hair floating.

These are the main two things we need creative ideas for. We also have access to horses, an old and very creepy stage coach, an old fashioned buckboard wagon that we used last year with an old wooden coffin and a very good vampire spitting blood. This year we have a real, modern coffin also. Need suggestions for that too.

Our hayride trail is about 15 to 20 minutes long with 12 to 14 staging areas, it is heavily wooded. Last year we did a huge spider web tunnel and dropped a 6ft spider on the trailer at the end. That got even the skeptical ones screaming.

We need to do some new things this year so any ideas will be much appreciated. I wish I could just round all of you up and turn you loose at our barn, I'd love too see what you would create. I think you would all be in heaven, we have so much to work with, it just takes a lot of creativity.

I have used several of the turorials I found on here so thank you all for those.

Soo many thoughts, I whis it could type faster.

    1) Multi Axwothy flying ghost is the 1st thing that came to my mind.
    2) If you have horses then headless horman is a must. Have him chase a guy on the buckboard wagon.
    3) Dumpster would be a great place to put a guy with a chain saw (echo would be nice.)
    4) I am not big on blood in haunts (just me.) I would have a prop or an actor come up out of the watering troughs. Like a grave popper. Just as the ride was over.
    5) With lots of trees, i would set up some ghost effects like a pepper's ghost but use actors playing out a scene.
    6) Oh, a good old fashion ghost story while the ride is going on (one that includes the history of the site.)

Just a few ideas. Hope they help.
