As we all know Halloween falls on a Monday this year. My question to you is what time will most of you be retiring halloween 2011 at? For the past three years we have kept the music and the display up till 11:00 pm this year I think it might be cut short to 9:00.

I live in an area where the rules are: Halloween is from 6PM to 8PM. PERIOD! You can look up the street and watch all the porch lights go out.
The local constabulary rides around in their squad cars to "remind" stragglers that festivities end promptly at eight.

I think we will be cutting it a little short this year too. Around us everyone usually goes to bed around 10 so I think we will keep our lights on till at least then. Last year I think we closed everything up around 11pm. I hate when halloween falls on a weekday.

If it falls on a week night, we usually wrap up by 9:30. Or earlier, if the TOTs stop before then.

No rules here...so it depends on the ToTs....and the weather. 9:30 sounds about right here too

TOT officially ends at 8 but we normally get a few stragglers. I'll leave the sound/lights on until 9 as we have friends who stop over after TOT to see the haunt, have a snack ,etc.. We have to be considerate of our neighbors so we take care not to run things too long. I also start bringing things in at 9 as it takes me at least a couple hours to get most of it put in the garage, until I can sort it out the next few days.
Americans sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

We don't have "official" TOT here, but I've hardly been getting any kids at the door the last few years for some reason, so I usually keep the door open and everything fairly late in case we get any stragglers. I stay up late so I would not mind kids coming later.
As far as the lights and the displays and stuff, I don't take everything down until a few days after Halloween and I generally turn them off either around 11-12 or if I forget, I do it when I go to be about 1am or later.Zombie Eradication/Disposal Unit (ZEDU) - K-9 Patrol Division
