If you've been keeping up with the "what did you find/buy today?" thread you may have seen where I found a blow mold which I hadn't seen in two years. I wanted to display it this year but it would not "Fit" into my display. Well while working on some Halloween stuff today I had a idea to make it fit. My favorite football team is the Arizona Cardinals so...cut a key lanyard and put it on his head and...vola, a Cardinals fans Halloween decoration!
Anyone one else incorporate your other hobbies/interests into your display?

I do but a lot of my hobbies/likes are also compatible with Halloween, for example I use my dolls in my Halloween decor-- I collect Living Dead Dolls and Little Apple Dolls so they fit in perfectly. I also love horror movies and things so that just goes hand in hand with Halloween...
This year I'll be incorporating one of my favorite video games too since I am planning to do a Bioshock themed Halloween party.
Oh yeah here are some examples of my dolls being used for Halloween display:
This is "The Lost"

Inferno

Posey and Abigail Crane
My mantle:
Mini Living Dead Dolls(they come with a noose!):
Zombie Eradication/Disposal Unit (ZEDU) - K-9 Patrol Division
Why do today what you can put off till tomorrow?

I used to work as an RV repair technician, and that job included a lot of innovation, and creativity. I learned a lot about 12volt electrical system, motors, and woodwork. I have brought those skills into my home haunt, along with my interest in Christmas light displays, having done several years of Light-o-rama displays of more than 60 channels. I want to bring the light o rama controllers into my home haunt to develop a more realistic haunted house.

I have a section of my yard where I decorate with statues and urns so it will look like a cemetery.

Great stuff guys. HauntedHorror, your dolls are great!
I am an ecologist/biologist/biogeographer and therefore, have developed a fascination in strange and unusual plants and insects. I grow lots of carnivorous plants, which I do not incorporate into my Halloween displays. However, I think the venus flytraps would be the best contenders!
I also grow Devil’s Claws and have used the seed pods, which look pretty wicked in several Halloween displays.
Some carnivorous plants:

These are the devil’s claws that I grow and use every Halloween:

Wow Joossa! Those devils claws are great! Are they hard to grow?
Hello, I want my book. Bonjour, je veux mon livre.

They are really easy to grow if you have the right conditions. They are almost the opposite of pumpkins in that they require lots and lots and lots of heat... and I mean lots! They thrive with daily temps of 95F+. They also require lots of sun and regular watering, but don't like it too wet. They also must be grown in very large pots or directly in the ground. Lots of heat is the most important factor, though.
I literally get hundreds of seeds at the end of each growing season. If any of you are interested in getting some to grow your own, shoot me a PM and I'll make a list and PM you back some time in the Fall. I can give you seed free of charge, but I do ask for a self addressed stamped envelope like I do at another plant forum. Feel free to ask!

Well, there's something you don't hear everyday. But your "pumpkin face" cactus is rather cool.
A great deal of my other interests go hand-in-hand with Halloween, as well.
Spiders, obviously... Ghost hunting and the paranormal... Gothic fashion... Horror stories... Spooky things in general.

It is mostly my wife's hobby, but I have started to adopt part of it; She started to build dollhouses and I help her with the detail work which is what I like. After going with her to an incredible miniature shop in Orlando, I got an idea I have started working with. I am doing porch scenes, about shoe box size, using doll house materials. I am doing them in different holidays, but the first project of course is a Halloween front porch!
And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
