Several years ago when my granddaughter was about a 2 1/2 years old and it was getting close to Halloween. We had done our first haunt in the garage the year before and she really got into it. She was looking forward to Halloween again that year and would come out and would watch me doing my first attempts at making props.
One evening I had to go to the grocery store and she wanted to come with me. We got to the store and they had a little Halloween display with a lot of different things including stuffed toys. They had stuffed ghosts, Jack-o-laterns, Frankensteins and one stuffed Giraffe that had white, yellow and orange stripes. Of course out of all the things she wanted was that Giraffe. Why a stuffed Giraffe was in with the Halloween things I dont know but at least it somewhat had the colors so I bought if for her.
She would carry that thing around for months afterwards wherever she went. Finally it got shoved aside along with the million other toys she had. However, around Halloween time the Giraffe would always show up.
Today I was sitting at the kitchen table with a slab of foam in front of me, tracing out a pattern and she walked up and plopped this down in front of me.
I dont care what you see in the stores...this means its getting close to Halloween.

I thought candycorn immediately too. Its sweet that the giraffe is still kicking around the house. Nice story Johnson.
As I was going up the stair, I saw a man that wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today...Oh how I wish he'd go away.
