It's August and again this year I haven't had the chance to even start thinking about my display this year. Sad and disappointed...

Yeah, I'm kinda in the same boat...only I started way back in February. August is melting away fast and I have yet to complete a single project, yet alone think about the display.

I'm aware how fast time is slipping by everytime I log on here, and I'm frustrated that our landscaping looks far from being done. The workers have been at another job for the last two weeks, grrrr. No idea what kind of yard space I'll have to work with. I thought my garage would have been cleared out of BBQ epuipment and patio furniture months ago. Actually I also had hoped to have had garage work space for building props and scenery and then later have the space available for a covered haunt. We changed our entry area to create a walled courtyard and it just screams Halloween plans to me. Hope it's not going to be my only area! I've been itching to have more finished yard space to work with and planned on this being the year. Three months is still a ways off, right?

It's never too late to get started! (Says the member who has barely done anything this year!)
Besides it's more fun to make things and plan when fall is nearer rather than farther away

No worries - there's still plenty of time! It's only one week into August, after all. I know many of us get so caught up in the idea that we must start thinking of next Halloween as soon as the trick or treaters are gone, but truthfully, you can wait till after Labor Day and still pull off a great Halloween display, especially if you already have a lot of basic props and decor. Some years, we have more time on our hands than others - that's life. Relax! Halloween will still come and it'll be awesome, even if you only have time to carve a pumpkin and hang a sheet ghost.

No, no, no...it's time for full on White Rabbit mode!! With maybe a bit of Chicken Little thrown in as well. It's the 21st Century, for goodness' sake, where's my freakin' time machine?!?

But yeah, you're right. It's all good.
I'd rather set a project aside than frantically try to finish it and end up with something unsatisfying. It's just not worth wigging out about. Besides, those that get aside this year put me that much ahead for next year...or something like that.Chivalry is NOT dead...but I'm working on it.

I'm in the same boat - not a thing done....I get tired of hearing myself say every year, "next year will be different!". Plus I seem to be low on enthusiasm which isn't helping AT ALL. I need to haunt the forum more and get my mojo back!!
