WELL its in the triple digits here in central illinois. Getting in the HALLOWEEN spirit and prop making mood is hard when you cant get out in the garage. So I closed the window blinds, made a bowl of chilli and turned on HALLOWEEN 2. Im feeling better already!! Anybody else have a summer halloween ritual?

My spirit is dying in this Illinois heat as well! I don't have any summer rituals. But last week I made my first Halloween card of the year. Left it on my desk to remind me it's coming soon. Also lately I have been watching kids Halloween movies & tv episodes with my son. He loves everything Halloween and his excitement always gets me excited!

Another overheated Illinoisan checking in... My garage is a disaster zone thanks to garage sales before the heat struck. I can't even access most of my props that need repair or the materials for making new ones. 90 days until Halloween? I'm screwed and worst of all, this may be my last year to display so I really want(ed) to go out with a bang. Even so, it's just way too hot to even consider frying out there, however. Garage saleing I can sorta manage thanks to a car with newly repaired air conditioning, but anything involving the outdoors is Not Gonna Happen any time soon.

I have enlisted some helpers this year and I'm considering trying to wheedle them into starting earlier than we planned to help compensate for the lost time. Meanwhile, I'm obsessively running my Halloween search on the DVR and searching through old threads here on HF for inspiration.

I know how you feel. My garage is consumed by lawn and garden equipment. I am rebuilding my tiller motor so that stuff is all over my work bench. I refuse to start prop building untill my garage is clean. So then I can dirty it up again!

I would post a picture of my garage, but some well-meaning soul would show it to TLC and we know how that story would end

I don't have any summer rituals PERIOD. I did have a bunch of little projects I would do in the summer but that's when I was a kid.

I don't know. It would probably be neat for the show to have it's first Haunter Hoarder.

It's really hot here too. Yesterday I made a pot roast with with potatoes and carrots. You, one of those deals you pop in the crock pot for 6+ hours. That is always my fall time food and even though it is so hot, I couldn't resist. I went Halloween shopping too and got a 50% off coupon from my purchase so my secret reaper will most likely be getting their main gift from Michael's.
