Ok so this year I am going pro. I am renting out an area of a park and am hosting a haunted forest. I divided the land up into 7 sections.
1. Biohazard and medical (I.e bloody surgeon)
2. ?
3. Phycho area (chainsaws and straitjackets)
4. Graveyard
5. Clown
6.?
7?
If you come up with ideas, could you also tell me what props I could use for each idea
(if possible)
Also, should I try and get a sponsor to cover some of the expenses?
There are dozens of ideas just in this section of the forum alone - many of which go into detail with what decor, props and costumes they use - so make sure you take advantage of the community here that has already contributed! (I suggest, when you figure out your themes, to do a forum search. tons of great ideas).
Some off the top of my head, though (staying relatively close to the idea of a forest):
Scarecrows
Wild Animals (rapid animals, lots of sounds, glowing eyes)
Aliens
Zombies
The dark (minimal lighting (maybe just for the pathway), eerie sounds, shadowy figures - less in your face and more physiological fear)
Witches (1600's witch trials-style)
Monks/Occult (hooded folks, chanting)
Ghost (creepy ghosty people in the distance, maybe some in your face pop-outs behind trees)
Don't know about sponsors, but I imagine if you DO get someone to sponsor it, you're going to end up compensating them with some advertisements thrown at the entrance/exit (banners, signs, etc)
Also probably be wary of what 'themes' you use and what sponsors you seek (i.e. A church probably isn't going to sponsor a haunt with an occult theme - or maybe they do and provide some costumes, I don't know)
