I know many stores like Joanns and Micheal's are setting out Halloween stuff, but has anyone seen any of the regular Halloween stores moving in?
A friend posted on FB that a Halloween Superstore had it's sign up and was building shelves. Normally those stores don't show up until the end of August at the earliest.
I was going to be up in the area so I stopped by and sure enough the store was setting up, no merchandise or date of opening, but they have shelves being set up and a flyer in the window looking for employees.
Part of me is excited to see Halloween stores setting up so early, but part of me is annoyed because I don't want Halloween to become like Christmas is now. I love Halloween but I don't want it being pushed 4 months before the holiday. Many people are annoyed that Christmas is pushed earlier and earlier every year, so I know they will be annoyed if every other holiday did the same.
I guess it's a lot of mixed feelings for me.
Has anyone else seen the stores setting up unusually early? How does everyone else feel about them setting up so soon?

And the best advice you may ever get is never to go out…at night.

There's a big Halloween City banner on the former Bed Bath and Beyond here. Went up this week.

No, but there is an ad in today's paper looking for management for Spirit for the season. It is coming...

I know what you mean. I was surprised to hear about stores even having Halloween merchandise out. I was annoyed that a lot of schools were advertising back to school stuff in July!
On one had I would love it if there was more Halloween stuff available sooner, on the other hand I am worried about the Halloween stuff GOING AWAY sooner if it is starting sooner! For example a lot of the drugstores near me used to have good clearance sales in November on Halloween items, but then last year I noticed they had the Halloween stuff on clearance already BEFORE Halloween!Zombie Eradication/Disposal Unit (ZEDU) - K-9 Patrol Division
Why do today what you can put off till tomorrow?

Have seen a couple of Halloween City signs, and less than a block from my house is a banner for a Halloween Bootique. They are popping up really early this year! No date on opening, however.

Advance advertising is a great marketing tool. Those banners for H'ween stores get people like us excited. In all likelihood, none of them will open much before early September. I, for one, would rather not see a lot of Halloween stuff out in July and August. As mentioned, the earlier it's out, the earlier it goes away. Just hoping this year offers a better selection than the past few years, which have been dismal.

We have one, Wicked, opened limited hours. Which basically means Friday and Saturday night. There next door to the movie theater, so they get a lot of walk thru traffic
