Ran across these today. Not too expensive but not very big either.

As a kid I made a paper mache skeleton using bent coat hangers covered in said material and painted white. It didn't look great on it's own, but buried under some leaves the flaking, brittle effect looked cool. After years in the attic between Halloweens it began to break down and looked even more cool. Finally threw it out a couple years ago, as it started to totally fall apart.
As far as your form, yeah, cool. Just beware of wet weather if you use it outdoors, and it will get brittle after a few years as well.

If you want your paper mache to "live" longer, never store it an attic, or any place where it will be subjected to extreme heat or cold. Same for anything latex. I keep all the things I want to stay room temp, like masks, paper mache stuff, etc., in our basement where it's temperature controlled all year.
You can coat the heck out of it with Spar Urethane or the outdoor coating of choice to waterproof things.
Thanks for that link, last year Michael's had those brown craft paper skulls & skull masks & I didn't get any skulls but I bought a few masks.Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, the best damn little band you should be listening to!
