How does everyone stay motivated? Especially in this H-E-A-T?? I run a couple of small Halloween related sites and find it very difficult to stay motivated in the summer with everything going on and geared towards the beach. I don't have a haunt or props to work on...and this time of year...motivation is a real problem...any suggestions??

Im always working on something Halloween related throughout the entire year so its easy to stay motivated. Even during the off seasons. Its okay to enjoy summer, Christmas, whatever and still have that Halloween motivation. If you find yoursself losing it, just come visit the Halloweenfroum, listen to Halloween Radio. Maybe put on some Halloween movies, light a candle with a Fall scent. Maybe think of the things that you really enjoy about the Fall/Halloween season and take a day and try to do those things in the off season.

I don't!
If I have anything big going on in my life, then that's the only thing I can focus on. I'm not much of a multi-tasker. Last year was my first year without kids in school and all the volunteer stuff that I did for so long. And last year was my biggest Halloween display ever! This year, my daughter got married and we spent almost six months working on the wedding so I've had zero motivation (or money!) towards Halloween. Or anything else!

i would tap into the hatred and disgust for all the Christmas FREAKS that insist on displaying trees, etc. in stores as soon as september and nudging our beloved halloween items further and further off the shelf. that should do the trick.

I have been losing motivation lately until we went to a party last night. Everyone there was talking about my sons halloween party and how they can't wait and asking me how I was going to top the last one. Now I am motivated again! LOL

I have NO motivation in this heat...Right now it's 10 pm and 85 degrees outside... I have no intention of doing anything until a front comes along and blows this crap down south where it belongs in Florida somewhere maybe?
......I don't worry about it anymore because I've been doing this enough years now to realize I'm not going to be motivated until the evenings get cooler, crickets get loud and I've got about 60 days to go...Yep, September is going to come along and kick me in the butt and I'll be living outside in the evenings making stuff and trying to find time to make it to Party City and Spirit to get stuff and it will be GREAT....Just like all the other years....lol....ZR

I would say just think about all the great times u have had and know there just right around the corner.. I look up stuff all the time on the net (vintage halloween art, figures, blogs, fourums,etc.. Remember it all comes from the heart and mind. Talk with freinds about there possible costume ideas. Try to think of new ones.. And keep watching scary movies.. Just my 2 ¢
