We are going to have a food tent at our party this yr. I'd like to put a ton of webs in the ceiling and extend down to the tables. And I would like to put a couple of black lights in there to make the webs pop (that will work right? I haven't really worked with black lights before) What is a decent price I can expect to have to pay for black lights? I see them online but I am not really sure what is considered a good price. Thanks for your help!

From a lighting store (Brighter Homes), I paid about $26 for a 4' flourescent black light (they had to order it for me). Some places wanted up to $75 ! Shop around. Make sure to ask them if the light is the kind that are in dance clubs. This is what my black lights say on the tube, -Sylvania Blacklight B F40/BLB -

A buddy of mine found an 18" one in a wal-mart clearance section for around $5. I just depends on the wattage and size. Just look and look.

I think I've seen them at both Lowes and Walmart. Spencers usually has them too. Can't remember the price.

if you have Big Lots I got several for $7 each one year. There were over a foot, maybe 2 feet. Walmart has the same sized ones for $9.99 http://www.walmart.com/ip/Lights-of-...xture/16879944 . If you want the huge ones walmart also sells just the tubes for $10 at the 4 foot mark. I put the tubes in my garage light fixtures last year and they worked great.

The lowest price I can find (and they've been the same price for years) is at Wal-Mart.
They are $9.96 for a medium sized one. That's where I get mine!
