Love the Nightmare before Christmas but tired of all the haunted mansion holiday decor everyone is using? I have ideas for you to put the Halloween back into HalloweenTown.
as you know i start my Halloween plans after during and after Halloween. Now these tips are just ideas and the theme is what style I've been doing called "Pre-Christmas town" meaning before Halloween town was influenced by Christmas. That means sadly no Sandy Claws or dead Christmas trees but the point is to make it scarier. the reason why some of my props look more frightening then the movie version. of course I'm still keeping the scary Christmas stuff in my display these are just tips.
Halloween Town= This town has a Mid-evil castle like look to it so brick walls and any gruesome torture weapons like guillotines and axes are perfect. Also pumpkins shoved on spikes and fences are a must. There are so much you can think of for this one. Also make almost everything look like a monster or a face like windows and doors.
Graveyard= Again the ideas are endless. Depending on the style your going with "cartoon" like means like how Nightmare has weird grave shapes and dark colors. But my graveyard is more realistic.
Doctor Finkelstein's Lab= With this you have the basic mad scientist look but like all of Halloween have it "fun" looking.
Sally's Kitchen= have a nice big cauldron on the stove and everything look like a face like the monster oven or bat like cabinet. and have "fun" looking bottles like "Worm's Wart" and "Snake's Tongue" or any thing you can come up with.
Jack's House= Have beautiful dark red torn up curtains and make a cover for your fire pace to look more like Jack's. again sky is the limit.
Lock, Shock, and Barrel's Tree House= Everything looks like from a yard sale and destroyed. Blood, weapons, and candles every were with Oogie Boogie's shrine.
Oogie's lair= Basically It's a lot of black lights and Christmas lights with casino based torture props. This is alot of fun to work with paint cheap skeletons glowing colors and the possiblitys are endless
Town Hall= Like Jack's house it's fancy but torn up a little. with Halloween flags and seats for everyone and a stage with the the things you would need.
Hinterlands= There isn't much to do here but dead trees and maybe a enternce of trees shaped as a monster face. there are 7 trees with holiday doors and little props infront of them like Pumpkin door with skulls, Tree door with gifts, ect
Monster House= Stripes and chess board patterns are perfect have coffin shaped tables and chairs. mabe have glowing red eyes under your bed.
these are just ideas if you want to add your go ahead you can get even more ideas from the game oogie's revenge or kingdom hearts even look for concept art serce for nightmare christmas props on google and see what you get. if you got ideas i would love to hear them ^__^
Have Fun

I've always been misrepresented. You know, I could dress in a clown costume and laugh with the happy people but they'd still say I'm a dark personality. --Tim Burton
