One of the biggest things that drive me nuts is that stores like Walmart and other major retail stores have really faltered in getting the public more Halloween props and has loss there sense of spirit altogether. Two years ago I had enough of our local walmarts crappy Halloween section so I went to walmart.com and emailed the manager of the local store. Telling him how I felt and how Krogers across the road had such a better selection I also told him my suggestion of improvments. Few days later I recieved a phone call from him. He was very kind and very open for my suggestions. I told him how I feel. Told him about the past years and how amazing it used to be. Well come last Halloween they did a whole turn around. Way more yard Decorations and a better variety, I emailed them and told them what a good job. I think if a lot of people did this we could make a difference. I encourage everybody whose walmart or major store sucks. I remeber about 10-12 yrs ago they would really go all out by making that isle dark and putting on scray music and stuff. Those really was the days. Now I just skip walmart for Halloween and go to Halloween express and Spirit Halloween or heck even Big Lots has a pretty decent selection. Whats everybody think? Does your walmarts or stores been sucking as well lately? Thanks for your guys time!

I'm sorry. I've never bought enough at walmart to miss the lack of selection. I know there are a lot of Haunters on this forum that have been put out and I really hope you can make a difference. It would be heartening to see the season come back into the mainstream.

Thanks to Walmart last year, I ended up with a Jason and a Party Hardy Skeleton. Plus I got a lot of those little skeletons. I could have also gotten the witch with the spell book, but didn't like the look of the body.

Yeah I did see the skeletons, I wanted them as well but didnt have the cash. Seems as tho the bigger cities the better selection at walmart. I got some pretty decent little things. I really liked the cheap electric candles for the pumpkins they worked very well.

More than anything, this is the saddest commentary of all. People just don't see it. Such as shame. That's all I'll say.

In the last 3 years, most stores in Ottawa, been sucking more and more, sadly.

Last year was extremely dissapointing, to be honest. Not once we saw in improvement anywhere.

Hope things get's better this year.

The Walmart closest to us just won't give a crap. The people that work there are miserable, know nothing & the whole store is horrible.

The one a little further away is the polar opposite. I could see them responding, but the other one, I'd never bother. I won't even go there even though it's right across from a TON of other big box stores that I frequent like Target, Michaels, Kohls, Petsmart, Home Depot, etc. I'll turn around & drive in the exact opposite direction to go to the other one.

But you are correct, they used to have a bigger selection of decor & decorations. Last year it was just aisles & aisles of candy & 2 othe aisles of decor & costumes.
