Wow, that's pretty creepy. I'm totally into animal bones. Last weekend i found a bird skeleton while mowing. The little skull is up on the mantle

There's a dead fox on the sidewalk where the grass is pretty high by the Weber Davis campus on University Park Blvd, off 193. It's on the east side of the road between the campus and the light. At least it was there last night when I was jogging and almost stepped on it. You can't see it from the road. So it might still be there.

It would probablly look pretty cool hanging out of your latest creation's mouth.

never thought about taking pics, i'll be going back out i'll bring my camera and a bag to carry stuff next time, i picked up a skull of a cow i think and some vertebrae parts, thinking i'll use them to reinforce my plastic skeletons, i was out for my run so didn't have a way of carrying it all back. i'm sure i looked funny enough running down the road with a skull in one hand and the other pieces in the other hand. it was cool, a couple cows or horses that had been there for a few years but the skin and fur hadn't decomposed. my friend wanted to haul the whole darn cow back to my house since it was all in tact, lol. he's not a haunter but i think he's getting interested from all my stories and plans. and i don't think he'll ever think of bones and dead animals in the same way again. maybe i've finally found true love, a man that can give me a bag of bones just may win my heart, lol. i was wondering how many dead skulls and bones i can have in my cemetary before the city gets on my case.

Skulls are relatively easy to find out in the wild, and at butcher shops for farm animals

Vertebrae fairly common. Leg and pelvis, no problem.

It's the ribs I am continually at a loss to procure. Scavengers tend to scatter those to the winds, then they get washed away, and most are destroyed/used at butcher shops.

No idea about your state law, around here, bones and skulls in general aren't a problem (and the cops have been called out to inspect my collection before), but have too many game animal remains (especially antlers), and they may ask to see tags to prove you werent out poaching.

Sounds too fresh, and the wife get's all moody when I break out the beetles to clean the bones...

Not to mention I have a fear of canine skulls. (yes, really)

Only here would everyone be all "Cool!" about getting a pile of animal bones!

I found a squirrel skull last year and cleaned it and it's in my little shelf of oddities now. There's a restaurant near me that has a curly horned ram skull on the wall... and I WANT it.
