I did a post (how playing TETRIS helps packing) when I finally packed everything. Sadly, I did over spilled into the garage this year. I will need for sure sell some stuff later this year (ahhh I don't want too, but I reached beyond my capacity).
Here is what is in my basement.

Tried to find a YouTube version to embed here but YouTube's deleted all the Simpsons and Family Guy short clips.

Ask around you might be shocked at who will open up space for you... I did that and a buddy and his wife let me convert their entire garage and an outside storage shed into my prop storage area...

Aside from the collection that is growing ALL over the house I have one spare bedroom that is stacked floor to ceiling. All you can do is open the door, you can't get in and I haven't seen the back wall of it in 15 years. I don't even remember the size of the room...it's horrible LOL!!!

The in-laws have 98 acres 20 minutes away. We load up the flat bed trailer and take it all to their ranch

The photos posted above by osenator point out one solution: Plan before you buy. I used to have a bunch of assorted black lights, partly because I couldn't justify the cost of one of those expensive pro units. But totalling up al the money I spent on fixtures, bulbs and extension cords showed that over the course of a couple of years I spent more than the $169 pro light would have cost. I sold off most of my smaller lights and now use (and store) just the one.

My stuff is currently in the attic, shed, garage, on the front porch, outside on both sides of the house, in two different bedrooms downstairs, also in the family room downstairs, in the office upstairs and on the dining table....oh yeah, still have a couple boxes of orange lights and a blucky skull in my truck.

Without knowing what your place looks like, it's hard to figure out where to store stuff. Do you have a garage? carport? shed? deck? basement? spare bedroom? Some stuff you can just leave outside to weather. I have a few coffins doing that right now.

I solved my storage problem when I decided to keep my garage Halloween-themed year round.

... I love my garage now.
