Quite a few of us happen to be into this holiday big time. From the amount of money spent into the collection to the amount of work done putting up displays, we really get into it. A lot of time for no profit back. We just enjoy it.

So here is the question. What was your spark that got you into Halloween? Why do you think you are so into it?

My was from childhood. I deduce that I was given a lot of freedom on decorating the house and outside without any interference. I was allowed to place my action figures and Transformers in the window as displays. And I was allowed to celebrate it any way I wanted to.

Well I'm still young as it is, but what it me Into was when I was about 5 and my aunt did a Halloween party and she would let me decorate, ad we watched old scary movies. Also at my house we built an annual stuffed dummy that sat on the chair. I loved building that so eventually I began to build more dummies every year. So 10 years later I'm now building animatronics, and making now walkthroughs, with extremely realistic dummies with professional masks. Look at some of my previous haunts if u wanna see my previous one. So that's pretty much how I found my destiny lol.

Like most people, it just brings back memories when you were a kid and how much fun and joy it really is.

When I was a kid my parents used to only decorate with the standard cardboard cut outs. Some of them were cartoony scenes of haunted houses surrounded by pumpkins and ghosts. I used to beg my Mom to put them up earlier and I would just stare at them. I was hooked.

I got to old to ToT, atleast thats what everyone said to me. So me and some neighborhood kids did a small haunted house, and we actually scared people. That got us addicted. Then one day me and a buddy from school were talking and it was about 2 weeks before halloween. I never knew they were so into the holiday, after that it kinda just exploded. It also might have been the fact I always did a homemade costume every year, so I was started out young in the costuming department. Plus, I was always a big chicken when I was little, but that changed. I must of hit a light switch in my brain, because one year everything dark and scary just intrigued me.
We stopped checking for monsters under our beds when we realized they were inside of us

When I was younger, I went to a behind-the-scenes tour of the Haunted Mansion movie. I was really fascinated by the sets and the way they decorated. Ever since, I have really been fascinated by anything "haunted".

Long story short - Taking my two kids out Trick-or-Treating in 1983. One of the last homes we hit had a guy wearing a wolfman mask. That's it, just a mask. My kids were petrified. When they walked, slowly, subdued, respectfull, back to the sidewalk, I asked them, "Was that scarey?" They were 7 and 6 at the time. They responded, "Yeah, that was scarey", like 'what ae you thinking, didn't you see that guy?'. I told them, "Guys, that was NOT scarey. Wait til next year, I'LL show you scarey". Thus began The Legend...

I used to decorate my apartment with one or two things, but then somebody stole a skull off my front stoop. To cheer me up, mom decided to let me decorate her yard instead... and we went WAY overboard. That was 3 years ago. We're getting progressively more overboard every year. And I've stopped decorating my apartment.

I still miss that skull though.

Lil Ghouliette's stolen skull may have got me started on a cemetery but the making of the props has been so much fun. I have always enjoyed Halloween as a kid and that kid is still somewhere inside me. With as much fun as I have had making props with my daughter, I have to say, I am glad her skull disappeared.
