I wanted to get some decent but inexpensive speakers for my outside display. I found these on Amazon but wasn't sure how good they were.

    Dual LU43PB Indoor/Outdoor Speakers

    Amazon.com: Dual LU43PB Indoor/Outdoor Speakers (Black): Electronics

Has anyone tried these or have a recommendation for something else?

I have a pair of those. They work well. However, my best luck has been with garage sale and Goodwill scores.

These are better and you can add more as you get them. I have them myself. You can plug in or go wireless for power source.

Try this page of different size/type of speakers. There a little more money but in most cases, you get 4 speakers instead of 2. There are even rock speakers that might fit into your haunt theme. Even the watts are triple what your looking at.

OK, what's the story behind this common post? Inside joke not everyone knows about?

Thanks, there are a lot of great speakers there. Unfortunately they are a little higher then my budget will allow.

Go to ebay and search "outdoor rock speakers", and you can find them relatively cheap.

Rock speakers are exactly what popped into my head when I saw this thread. I would check Craigslist also. You might get lucky and find a deal on some there.

OOOO...I sense a little Prop Project here! Pick up a pair of good, yet cheap, indoor speakers, (can you say Craigslist?) and enclose them in styrofoam shells that you then carve and paint to resemble rocks.
