The Forum is a fantastic place to share ideas, it's a fantastic resource but most importantly the thing that makes it Fantastic is the people. I saw a posting the first night I joined and it was by osenator. Living in Ottawa I assumed it was and abbreviation for Ottawa Senators our cities NHL team. I was right and we hit it off immediately when I pm'd him. This was a little after Halloween 2009. Ironically we live about 5 minutes away from eachother and about a week before we met we were both at the same restaraunt. osenator and his wife immediately recognized my son from the restraunt when we met (for good reasons). Since this time we have become very good friends and see eachother regularily.

Here's a photo of myself (L) and osenator (R) with another type of monster....my sons favorite Monster Truck Brutus at a show we saw togather in April with my son and osenators wife.

Who else has been fortunate enough to meet others on the forum and get to know them at a personal level outside of the Forum?

We actually have started a locals haunt group that spawned off from the HF! What a great group of members we have and I am proud to say that they are all my true friends! Go team IEHG!

I have a best friend on the forum but it was more me getting him signed on than us meeting on it. He started dating a woman I pretty much raised. When she brought him here to introduce him I instantly liked him because of his toetag tattoo on his foot. We ended up in the garage the rest of the night looking at my props and talking halloween. For days afterward I kept thinking about how much he reminded me of my brother's (adopted) little boy. One day I just blurted that info out to him along with how the boys real dad was such a loser named XXX.
Makethemscream started laughing and agreed because the loser was his cousin and he didn't like him either...lol! We've been bouncing ideas off eachother ever since!

I doubt anybody on this board lives in my neck of the haunted woods.

Such is my lot in life.

I haven't come across too many folks from my area. Everyone I have got close to lives far away. Which really stinks cuz I'd love to have some of ya'll be able to attend my Halloween party

osenators wife is Silent Hill Nurse. My wife is not on the forum. Our families are now close friends and we do a lot of Halloween and non Halloween related things with eachother.

My experience was a bit backwards. The missus and I actually met our dear friends from Darkrose Manor at their home haunt. Always having an interest in the macabre and in Halloween in particular, I had looked up local hauntings on the Google. When I discovered their website, I had to drag the family there. We ended up talking for quite some time, and became fast friends. It was then that it dawned on me... there must be others with such ghoulish interests! And so much search turned to where such grotesqueries would gather, and I finally came across this wonderful forum!

That is a great story.
There is one haunter I text.There are several I consider friends even tho we haven't met in real life.I realllllllly hope to met them one day.
